Prescott, Arizona is a beautiful and historic town located in
the high country approximately 100 miles northwest of Phoenix.
The Prescott area is famous for its breathtaking forests and
its close proximity to well known tourist attractions such as
the Prescott National Forest, and the Grand Canyon.
The
area surrounding Prescott offers a wealth of activities for
outdoor enthuasists. Golfers enjoy 90 holes of golf on four
public courses, all offering challenging terrain and beautiful
views. Over 450 miles of maintained trails beckon hikers, equestrians,
and mountain bikers into the tall ponderosa pines. In all, more
than 20 recreational facilities are available in the National
Forest, located just minutes from the center of town. Prescott
residents have five beautiful lakes from which to choose including
Watson Lake and Willow Springs Reservoir, both inside the city
limits, surrounded by the beautiful rock formations of Granite
Dells.
Amenities
are plentiful in and around Prescott. Residents enjoy browsing
at the quaint boutiques and art galleries that surround the
Courthouse Square. Forty saloons once lined what was called
Whiskey Row. Todays visitor can enjoy fine dining at the
Palace Restaurant and Saloon on Whiskey Row, or sample a local
microbrew in one of the restored buildings now converted to
restaurants and shops but retaining their Old West charm.
